Participants of the Media Station camp organized a training
In July this year, the Media Sabak Public Foundation in Kyrgyzstan held a Media Station summer camp for high school students in the country. The Media Station summer camp was organized as part of a media literacy project with the support of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and DW Akademie.
A month after graduation, the participants began to show the first results. Participants, Shakirova Ebru and Matosmonova Aidana from the Karbyshev school and Nasirova Urinisa and Abiybillayeva Myrzaiym from the school named after 50 years organized a training for 25 people aged 12 to 20 years in the city of Kyzyl-Kiya, Batken region. The campers gathered participants through the local youth volunteer organization named Impulse. The training was held on 7th August this year in the open air stadium.
At the training, young trainers used the Media Sabak program and talked about critical thinking, fakes, manipulations and much more. Everything was accompanied by games and practice. Thanks to the training, more people in Kyrgyzstan learned about media literacy and its importance.
