ERIM background
ERIM (Equal Rights and Independent Media) is an international NGO based in Lyon, France. Founded in 2004, ERIM works mainly in the Eastern Partnership and Russia, the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), Europe and Central Asia.
We promote human rights and fundamental freedoms and empower citizens, so they are better able to access accurate and objective information and critically engage with the media and information they consume. We do this through support and strengthen civil society and independent media organizations, so they are more sustainable and better able to advocate for the respect of democratic principles, fundamental freedoms and human rights.
With its partners MediaNet (Kazakhstan), Media Sabak Foundation (Kyrgyzstan), MJDC (Uzbekistan) and Gurdofarid (Tajikistan), ERIM is implementing the QLEVER+ project which focus on education games for young marginalized youth in Central Asian countries through the QLEVER online platform and Android App. The platform has been lunched in 2019 and is runed in 5 languages (Russian, Kazakh, Tajik, Kyrgyz, Uzbek with some games translated into Karakalpak).
Role Description:
ERIM is looking for one or two experts to:
Perform an audit of the platform in terms of UI/UX, future sustainability, and provide recommendations that will be at the basis of actionable help in the design of gamification components: ratings, ranks, achievements, filters and not limited to these. Our team of Game Content Creators started to work on it already and have drafts of these features, but they would need an expert to complete their development together. It won’t be the first audit as one was conducted in 2021. Some recommendations from this past audit were integrated into the platform but it might be interesting for the expert to build upon suggestions of the 2021 QLEVER audit.
Host a workshop for Game Content Creators (GCCs) to improve their game design, content writing skills, and game production management. Before this workshop, a short meeting with the expert will be organise so that the team of GCCs can show how they are currently working in order to identify the needs the workshop should focus on.
